Overview

The Victorian Electric Heavy Vehicle Trial (VEHVT) is a practical, industry-led initiative supporting the transition to zero-emission freight in Victoria.

Delivered by the Victorian Transport Association (VTA) in partnership with government and industry, the trial provides selected freight operators with the opportunity to trial electric heavy vehicles (EHVs) in real-world operations at no cost.

The trial is suited to freight and logistics operators who:

  • have a genuine operational use for a heavy vehicle
  • are interested in exploring electric vehicle technology
  • can safely and compliantly operate the vehicle
  • are willing to participate in basic data collection and feedback.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a legitimate freight or logistic operator
  • have an active Australian business number (ABN)
  • hold all relevant registrations, licences, accreditations, and insurance required to operate.
